AGC issues call for proposals for collaborative research projects

Alberta Glycomics Centre

Open Call for Applications

The Alberta Glycomics Centre ( invites short applications from highly talented independent investigators (pre- and post-tenure) at universities in Alberta for consideration of affiliate membership positions in an internationally recognized research hub dedicated to translational carbohydrate chemistry and glycobiology. Of particular interest are applicants committed to working with other members of the Centre on interdisciplinary and innovative projects, ideally in the areas of human and animal health, agriculture, technology development, and bioengineering.

Interested applicants are encouraged to contact one or more of the Centre’s principal investigators (PIs) to discuss possibilities for potential collaboration, and to develop one or more new projects that add to the breadth and depth of the Centre’s research and commercialization portfolios. Typical projects funded by the Centre require collaboration between two or more PIs, and are expected to produce milestones or stage-gate deliverables within two (2) years. All approved projects undergo annual comprehensive reviews by the Centre’s Scientific Advisory Board and Management Advisory Board.

AGC investigators receive preferred access to core services and resources within the Centre including but not limited to mass spectrometry, high resolution NMR, glycoprotein analysis, proteomics analysis, chemical synthesis, as well as substantial equipment resources.

The deadline for receipt of a formal application consisting of a one-page Letter of Intent (LOI), plus CV is January 31, 2018.
